Purple!

This picture makes me soooo happy!

What is it you ask? Those are the walls in my daughter's room. Leanna chose a beautiful light purple and a gorgeous dark purple for room. That white wall you see there will be dark purple the next photo I show.

It seems so silly now but I was crying painting those walls. I am so thankful for this house. So many things God lined up for us. Can't even begin to explain it. I am so excited to make my children rooms. I never got to set up a nursery for any of my babies really. Leanna we did a room but she never even slept in it. I lost my job and then we filed for bankruptcy and then it was gone. Hudson we were living in my parent's house in one room and with Nolan we had the mobile home but there wasn't any money or space really. We did get new bedding for each new small person and we fixed up there space with fun things but it was never really THEIR room.

I love that Leanna and I took a special trip to pick out paint colors and that she is so excited too.

Again so thankful. More than I can even say.

House Prayers

So Josh and I have been looking for a new house for a little while now. We have been looking all over. Well recently we have switched from all areas to just in Arnold.

Our littlest guy Nolan has some special issues that require some special things. So since our IFSP is set up in Arnold school district, we LOVE our speech therapist, the special school district in Arnold is one of the better ones and Josh's job isn't far from here. After some serious discussions and thoughts from both of us and some prayer, we truly feel like this is the area where we need to be right now. Which is great except for one thing OUR budget doesn't really fit the area.

Amazingly enough a nice lady from church and her husband are going to be moving to Wyoming. They need to sell there house here to move there. It is in our budgeted amount, in the area we feel we need to stay, it is everything we have been looking for. We are really hoping and praying this was put in our paths for a reason.

So I have a few specific things to ask my friends to pray for...

1. That we can get another pre-approval since I am no longer working that still covers the amount.

2. That this is really what we are supposed to be doing.

3. That we can sell our current home QUICKLY.

4. That good attitudes and spirits remain through the outcome of this whatever it may be. We had something a few months ago that we had to let fall through due to some unforeseen circumstances that happened and discouraged barely begins to cover it.

So if you think of us could you please be praying for us and possibly our new home!

A playroom that the kids can actually play in?

So another post I wanted to make sure to get up because I am so proud of it.

Leanna and Hudson have decided they like sharing a room better than sleeping in their own rooms. Every night Josh and I would ask the kids okay where are we sleeping tonight and Leanna and Hudson would put there heads together and discuss it. You could hear them whispering and deciding it was actually pretty cute. They would look at us and say "Sissy's room" or "Hudson's room". So after their birthday party (which we did together this year pictures on that to come as well) we decided that they could just share a room and the other room could be used as a playroom area. So that is exactly what we did.

However when the rooms got switched over it was very late at night and I didn't have the energy left to clean the new playroom. Hence this disaster....

So I got my bottom in gear again (another day though) and got to organizing. Leanna made me so proud that day if it was broken, ripped, missing pieces, colored on, worn out or stained in went in the trash. As well as if neither of the children played with it anymore and it was still in good shape it went in the donation bag for "those childs without stuff right Mom" said Leanna. She was wonderful no crying or sadness. A great day overall. There are still a few things left that still need to be sold at the garage sale we are having soon but for now they are staying in the playroom.

A pretty productive week wouldn't you say?

Chatting with the Girls

So tonight I get to hang out with two of my favoritest (it is a word trust me) friends. And I am so excited to do it. Josh (my wonderful husband) is being so kind as to keep the kids a little extra longer tonight so that I can meet with these lovely ladies and chat and have some delicious coffee and something sweet too!

However, I read another blog this morning that kind of hit me in the gut.

"When did men become stupid?"

It used Homer Simpson as an example... Now I don't watch the Simpson's but I do know that Homer is portrayed as a stupid, rude and just generally disgusting man. It made the comparison that we are treating it as though most men are this as the rule and the good ones are the exception.

I hate that people think this.

However I am not going to say that I haven't been guilty of saying probably some hurtful things about Josh to a group of my gal pals or maybe even being smart or rude in front of other people to him.

I hope however that I am not. Josh and I talked the other night and I made sure he felt that I was still doing a good job and that if there was anything I did do that bothered him.

I have a hard time with the submit wives to your husbands aspect of things. It isn't about being a beaten down or a surrendered wife. It is about respect and I want to make sure that I am always respectful to my husband. For several reasons:

1. I want to be a good wife. I want my husband to know that I love him and appreciate him for what he does and how hard he works for our family.

2. I want to be a good example to other young women who don't get to see very many positive marriages and positive examples.

3. I want Leanna to be able to go into marriage with her eyes open and know that it is a hard job. Probably (next to being a mommy) the hardest job I have ever had...BUT it is well worth the work and that having a good, kind, hardworking man that loves you for who you are is important and that being a godly wife is important.

I don't know that I display these things in my everday life but I want to make sure that I am always striving for that. That I am always putting my best foot forward.

Happy Friday to all!

I love Fridays. As much as I hate Tuesdays (see post) I LOVE Fridays.

Fridays are special in a couple different ways. The first is the obvious it means that my work week has ended! And that I have two days of glorious freedom from my desk and responsibilities (at work that is) and crazy engineers who have not enough time in their day or mine to “make it happ’n”.

The second reason is Josh is off work on Friday’s this can mean several things...1. My house will b e trashed when I return to it but the kids will have been played with, 2. My house will be clean but my children will be crabby because Daddy made them be still all day to not mess the house up, 3. The house will be straightened up and the kids will be in a pretty good mood. Those are usually the closest to what I come home to.

So why do I like Fridays you ask?
Because Daddy is home it now makes it possible when volleyball starts in 3 weeks (YEAH!!! for exercise and for God’s favorite sport at least I think it is) and I can say yes and not feel guilty, so I can play and have fun and have quality time to myself and to allow my body to work some kinks out or obtain some more kinks which ever way you look at it.

-AND-

Because Daddy is home which means unless I have to do something I don’t always have to go straight home after work. Which is nice. I have the kids the other 6 days of the week so it is really nice to meander home and stop along the way if I so choose. (Fear not good friends volleyball is only from Sept 5th - Nov. 21st so before and after for the following:)

So why am I announcing this to the Blog World Wide? Because if you are reading this it probably means we are friends and in which case I am hoping you will see this and think... Hey Shay isn’t busy on Fridays anymore...we should grab a cup of joe (java, mocha, latte, hotness, sweet relief, caffeine, go juice), lets window shop, I don’t care but let me know if you want to hang because as of now Friday’s are usually all mine!
