Teddy Bear Picnic

If you go down to the woods today you're sure to get a surprise.
If you go down to the woods today you won't believe your eyes.
For every bear that ever there was is gathered there together because
Today is the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic!

Leanna has been learning all about camping in summer school this week. Hudson being the "manly" boy he is has been upset that he can't go to school this week.

So the other day she came home with some Teddy Bear binoculars. Hudson wanted them immediately. So we talked about how sissy is going to do some cool stuff at school but that we can do cool stuff too. Still together and at home.

*Cue inspirational heavenly music and light*

I started singing that song on the way home and got a great idea!

We had a Teddy Bear picnic. Complete with blanket on the floor. And appropriate snacks in my living room. Yeah non-believers I ALLOWED PEANUT BUTTER IN THE LIVING ROOM!!! I have pictures to prove it. Nolan was napping which helped this be a success I must admit.

It was a ton of fun and hopefully will be memorable if nothing else. They even brought "real" play food for their stuffed animals.

Some pictures of the event...
The first arrivals were Hudson (his name seriously is Hudson even written on his TY tag) and Eagly (I know Hudson is sooo orginal) and yes Hudson chose a chicken leg as Eagly's sanck.

This is the crew we ended up with. Elephants and Bears and Eagles OH MY!

They really got into it! They played for about an hour while eating apples and peanut butter and pretzel sticks to dip too.

The binoculars that started said picnic? Yeah he watched from the table for the entire shin dig!

I have to admit it was pretty fun! Plus it gave us a great activity that they had a blast with and we had some fun family time too. Sometimes great ideas come to us in the form of "Bear Binoculars" who knew?

Definitely a Finer Thing Friday even if it happened on a Wednesday afternoon right? I love making memories with them.

Baby Mine.

Please feel free to join Amy over at her blog Amy's Finer Things for Finer Things Friday.

I have a 7 month old ladies. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????

Where did this little teeny weeny thing go. (Well as teeny weeny as I get to have that is... 9lbs 1oz at birth!)

Now I have this handsome, devilish, smiling, giggling, trying to sit-up, teething, baby food eating little person. Who we have taken to calling Toothless.

I am not sure I can even fathom his 1st birthday but ladies lets get real it is ONLY 5 months away now that is shorter than half a year!!!!

He is beautiful and he is mine. I love that he snuggles me. I love that he still likes to be held. I love that he still grasps his little chubby hand around my fingers. I especially love when no one is around and it is quiet. I have found myself humming several times this little song...I knew I had heard it before (obviously I am no composer) but I couldn't figure it out and then we were driving down the road the other morning listening to 102.5 and there it was. The song I hum against his little bald held when his little eyes are drooping and I am enjoying just smelling the baby on him while it lasts.

Pretty appropriate song.

Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
Never to part,
Baby of mine.

Little one when you play,
Don't you mind what they say.
Let those eyes sparkle and shine,
Never a tear,
Baby of mine.

If they knew sweet little you,
They'd end up loving you too.
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for the right to hold you.

From your head down to your toes,
You're not much, goodness knows.
But you're so precious to me,
Sweet as can be,
Baby of mine.

All those same people who scold you,
What they'd give just for the right to hold you.

From your head down to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows.
But you're so precious to me,
Sweet as can be,
Baby of mine.
Baby of mine

No idea who the original is from. No stinking clue. But the version I heard that day was Bette Midler and I will forever and always remember this song now.

Baby Mine...7 months

A handsome and healthy little boy. Definitely A Finer Thing.

You guys loving Nolan!!!

Amy over at Amy's Finer Things has this little blog awesome sauce thing about Finer thing Fridays. So I thought I would participate.

I am so thankful for all the people who love our family and are supporting us in our hearing impairment journey. It makes it easier to know we have so many supporting us and loving us when someone who is ignorant (and I was that word as it should truly be used!) and cares not to understand and instead chooses fear.

Fear of the unknown or the atypical cause some to strike out in anger and hurtful words and sometimes they do it in front of my other children.

Leanna learned a valuable lesson this week as well. (This is unfortunately her third lesson regarding this.) Hudson well he just doesn't understand that way of people yet, thankfully.

However so many of you choose to love my little guy for who he is as a person and not what he can/cannot hear. Or how he looks. Or how sometimes our routine has to be different.

So thank you for loving him. He is pretty special to us because he is a beautiful boy not because he is hearing impaired. Our family just likes to think that gives him a little "Flava" or extra "sumpin sumpin".

Family and Friends loving our boy? Most definitely a finer thing.
