Back to the Gym

I have given myself a lot of leeway in teh working out department lately. It is amazing I am not back up MAJORLY! So I am back. If it kills me I am back again!

So last night (3-1-12 for records sake) I did two miles on the tread. While my first did have a lengthy warm up walk at a ridiculous incline my first mile time was UGLY.

The second wasn't AWFUL considering it has been almost two months since I worked out...

I have met some pretty big goals in my weight loss already. We are taking a mini vacation to Minnesota this summer (a childhood friend is getting married) and so the first goal is 20 more pounds by June.

The big goal? Josh's best friend (of forever and ever) is getting married in September and of course Josh is the best man and I would like to look fabulous on his arm if nothing else ;). So 30 more by my birthday August 31st. That will be a total of 50 pounds by the wedding. Here go again....

Tonight - Brownies and Soda....

Tomorrow the gym starts back up!

I took a break because of sickness and holidays and everything. But tomorrow I am back at it!

I am still down 10-15 pounds it varies on a daily basis... My goal is to be down another 20-25 by March 1st.

My highschool reunion is this summer and I am in a friends wedding in December. Sooooo time to get busy again. My ultimate goal? Still would have to be right around 200 so about 65-70 pounds left to lose!!!

Here we go. Intentional weight loss! Protein Shakes in the mornings and for some evenings too depending on the dinner planned. Lots of veggies! Working out 3 days a week. Because seriously the 4-5 days a week was TOO much. So I will do some pushups and situps and squats on my off days at home. But in real life I just can't commit THAT much time to the gym. So I.Am.Not.Going.To.

Hopefully when I update ya'll the first week of February I will have good news!

Project Shay (again I know)

Hello blog world. Long time no blog :)

Updating on Project Shay.

As of this morning my scale read 257.2!!!!!!

Ladies and gentleman that is a total loss of .... 21.9!!!

No pictures this week. Saving a special surprise photo the week before Nolan's birthday party.

My new short goal is to be 250 pounds by Nolan's birthday party on the 9th of October.

The long term goal remains the same I would like to be between 200-220 by the 1st of the year.

In super exciting and awesome news (relating to Project Shay) My sister Stephanie was in town this weekend and we went shopping. For the first time in 2 years I tried on and then bought a shirt that was just an XL from the Ladies' department not the PLUS SIZE!!!!!!!!! It is so exciting! I also purchased a pair of size 18W jeans... now that seems large but the jeans I have been wearing are 22W or 20W so I am losing it. Finally seeing some results after working so hard is really nice.

Hopefully at Nolan's birthday party when I see the pictures I won't cringe. Plus our dear friend Casey is doing family pictures this weekend. It would be nice to be another 3-5 pounds down for that but we'll just have to wait and see...

In other super and exciting news (still related to Project Shay) as I sit and type this my ring is glinting in the light from the computer screen. That is right ladies and gentleman I am once again wearing my wedding rings!!!

Okay enough bragging. Just been a pretty exciting weekend on the Project Shay front.

Thanks for reading. Stay tuned for pictures to come! (Oh and more regularly scheduled blogging again I hope!)

Clear the Clutter Part Deux

So in the Brewer household we are still working hard at clearing the clutter. I think I just going to show before pictures today again. As we are still hard at work and sometimes it is always the darkest before the dawn right?

Well that is my prayer would you please pray it with me too?

We are working on Laundry and kitchen stuff and my own personal job is going through Nolan's clothes and getting rid of the ones he has outgrown (some he never even got to wear!!!) and also the mail carrier or as I like to call it... "The Bill Holder of DEATH...."

So here are some before pictures for your viewing pleasure (again these are 100% real photos of ugly so please take caution before going any further)...

This is my medicine/baby food cabinet. It is in serious need of an overhaul and for old medicines to be disposed of and organized so it is a capable of holding more baby food since he is eating more and so it is easier to just look in there and grab what we need.

Keepin' It Real: This is my laundry room currently. It is a scary scary scary place right now. We are working on fixing that today.

This is a trouble spot in our kitchen. The spot by the microwave/refrigerator is always crammed full of stuff and I need to fix that as well.

This is a handy counter area that separates the living room and kitchen. Do you know what would make it even more handy? If it wasn't covered in junk! And yes those are empty Easter baskets that haven't yet been put away.

This is our coat rack by our door. There are still WINTER coats hanging on it. With gloves and knit hats. It needs to be exchanged for ball caps and jackets. The winter stuff must go. TODAY!

So those are just a few of the things I am working on today and possibly tomorrow. We shall see what gets accomplished. Which means I must end this and get moving. Plus Nolan is pissed that is is 11:30 am and he hasn't had his third bottle and 2nd jar of baby food. Yes you read that right. That would be the reason my not quite 6 month old son weighs 18 pounds. No don't rub your eyes or blink you read that right 18 pounds.

Peace Out

Day 1 Clear Out the Clutter

I decided to start our challenge in the living room.

Over Easter Weekend we had some out of town guests come to stay. While that is always fun. We also know how quickly our homes can become over run. Especially if you have a small home (like me (: ). Plus with the craziness of Easter (which was a lot of fun and will post about soon) it has just become a little crazy.

These pictures are completely real and honest. I apologize if they gross anyone out.

Like I said it has gotten a little out of control.

So I will check back at the end of today with hopefully a much improved living room!

Thanks

Clear out the Clutter!

Money Saving Mom (a blog I read occasionally) is having a Clear out the Clutter Challenge this week.

I thought about it for about 2.5 seconds. Then I took a look around and said yup that is just the thing to get my rear in gear.

I have been feeling a little sluggish lately. Tired and a little run down. I know it has a lot to do with our schedule which is partly my fault of getting overbooked and partly the fault of some (not his fault) little boys appointments here lately. (New molds made, double ear infection, virus, hearing aid malfunction, hearing tests and new molds to be fitted and left with... these are just from the last three weeks!)

So this week is a LITTLE less busy for us and I truly believe the other reason I have been feeling a little overwhelmed and run down is my home. It has gotten a little out of control between the appointments, the fun, the out of town guests, the holiday and well just everyday life.

So I will be trying to rid our lives of the clutter. The broken toys, the outgrown clothes (for Leanna anyway), packing up Hudson's old clothes for Nolan, taking the baby stuff to Once Upon a Child, going through our craft buckets, the top of the fridge the cupboard. Our home lacks storage so I don't really have the option of hanging on to everything. So I must truly love, need, want, use or wish for the children to have it for it to remain here :)

So stay tuned this week and if you want join in as I Clear the Clutter!

Slim Lady?

I was crazy to try to do any dieting before the holidays. Crazy...plain and simple. So it starts tomorrow (again). Melissa and I are hitting the gym. HARD.

I have managed (as of my last weigh-in last monday) to lose 7 pounds. I was at 263 last Monday. My doctor even commented that she was impressed as most people have gained 5-10 pounds by now (I saw her on December 18th) so I am proud to say I hadn't gained.

However I missed the mark on my New Years goal weight of being 250 by December 1st. Which is sad for me. I am hoping to make better progress because as we know the end goal is 200 pounds by September 21, 2010.

After the workout tomorrow and the weigh in I will clue you all in. (You know the three of you.)

Here's to hoping I can kick butt and take names.

I am also hoping to start posting a picture each Monday to have a *look in progress* as well as a blog in progress.

So here it is. What will hopefully the last time you will *see* me at this stage in the game. (Please have mercy on me my case... is that this was at 11:02 in the evening I was in my pajamas, had just gotten finished clipping coupons, no makeup and had been cleaning all day).

The New Year Arrives...And No Post?

So sorry been slacking again. I have had a pretty weird holiday. Sorry.

I am not the "resolution making type". I think they are awesome. I also think that I suck at them and don't like the stench of failure. Call me crazy.

There are some things that I wanted to accomplish in 2008 and I think I was pretty successful.

Couponing I have been kicking butt and takin' names with coupons this year!
Best shopping trip was a grocery trip the cashier rang me up: 167.67 was the total I handed my STACK of coupons and paid OOP! 53.26 and he gave me 30 dollars worth of coupons off of my next shopping trip. Pretty stinking awesome.

The BIG one I quit smoking. (I gained 25 pounds doing it :( and am incredibly embarrased by this.) I have been smoke free since September 24th 2008. Yahooo.

I started back at my gym and so far had lost 12 pounds (I think I am up a few with the holidays making total weight loss like 6 but hey...)

Those were some successful things. Here are a few things I would like to be successful in this year.

More weight loss I am working on 20 pounds more. We will see if I get there. Not stressing cause it don't help but working on it.

I want to be less freak outish. I have some pretty great kids. I freak out WAAYYYYY to much. The playdoh colors can be mixed it won't kill anyone. The want to draw a picture on the screen door when it is frosted over what is it going to hurt minus the fact that I need to re-windex the window. So less freak out. Makes sense if you know me I promise.

I want to spend more time with my husband. I miss him and he is FINALLY at home now!!! We need to find someone who rocks our world with the whole babysitting thing. Either that or I am starting a swap night with some friends or something cause I love that hunk that I call husband he is pretty freakin' terrific.

I want to be slower. I mean stop RUSHING. Life is sooooo fast around me. I am missing some stuff trying to be the one to keep up all the time. So saying NO more often is a top thing on my priority list. Missing things is rough and I am already missing alot because of work. So I am definately going to start making the most of the littler things and stop rushing Leanna and Hudson. If bedtime is a little late because dinner took longer on the stove, I am NOT skipping that bedtime story. Slowness = big one this year!

I need to focus on the friendships that count cause here lately I have been feeling used. I want to make sure I am not making others feel this way. I want to make friendships that LAST. I have lost touch with some pretty awesome ladies and I am hoping to reconnect with them and to hopefully make a few more friends and to also tell the friends people who are using me and not really caring for me and my family where they can sit to catch the next bus. I want to have some friends that I can look back with on this crazy part of my life and laugh and have memories and share things with. Godly friendships would be extra super special. I am not wording this well sorry. I want ladies that I can laugh with, cry with and truly feel as though we are there for each other.

God. I want to be closer to Him and truly know that I am listening for His plan for me and my family. I want to pray and talk to Him more and read and study and praise and sing. I want to not be so afraid to make Him so prominent in my life. I want to love like Him.

These are a few of those things that matter to me this year. I am refocusing me. That sums it up pretty nicely.
